“Negeri di Atas Awan” is located in the area of Mount Luhur. The exact location is in the Citorek Kidul Village, Cibeber District, Lebak Regency, Banten Province. This area is still in the Mount Halimun Salak National Park (TNGHS).
Almost every day the “Negeri di Atas Awan” Lebak Banten is crowded with tourists who come from various regions.
Journey to “Negeri Diatas Awan” Banten
To get to the tourist sites of Rangkasbitung, you have to drive for about 2.5 hours with a distance of 78 km from the main city. From Rangkasbitung, you have to drive to Cipanas – Lebak Gedong – Citorek and then Mount Luhur.
Meanwhile, to reach the top of Mount Luhur, you can go through using a two-wheeled or four-wheeled motorized vehicle, without the need to climb the mountain by foot.
Facilities and Costs
The facilities at this tourist site are sufficient enough for backpackers. The accommodation is provided at an affordable price of around Rp 150,000 / night.
If you want to stay overnight in this area, you can rent a tent at a cost of around Rp. 80,000. You can also bring a private tent and pay for the camping ground around Rp. 30,000.
To enter the summit area of Mount Lahar you will be charged a fee of Rp 5,000 / person.
Visiting time
You can enjoy the beauty on this mountain if you reach the summit around 05.00 to 08.00 AM. You can see why is this place is called “Negeri di Awan” or “Land on the Clouds”.
It is advised to visit this place when the weather is sunny. So don’t forget to check your weather forecast before visiting this place.
Departing Night-Time
To reach the location of Mount Luhur, you have to drive for 2.5-3 hours from Jakarta to Citorek Kidul, Lebak. Take the fastest route via Cipanas or Bogor-Jasinga. With an estimated 3 hour trip, you can reach the Gunung Luhur area at around 4 am. After you reached the area, you need to walk for an hour to reach the summit. There you can see the true beauty of Mount Luhur.
