One of the favorite destinations for diving and snorkeling in Central Java is on Menjangan Kecil Island. The clearness of the sea combines with the beauty of coral reefs and various species of fish makes this place one of the best diving spots in Java.
On this island, there are resorts so tourists or researchers can spend the night comfortably. The exact location of this beautiful island is in the southwest of the main island of Karimunjawa.
The location is not too far from Menjangan Besar Island which is famous for its shark breeding. For those of you who want to test your courage, swimming with sharks can be a very challenging and exciting thing.
To reach Menjangan Kecil Island in Karimunjawa, tourists must be patient because of the limited transportation. You can depart using the Muria ferry from the port in Jepara. Unfortunately, this ship is only available on certain days. So the best course is to find out about the ship’s schedule first, then leave for Karimunjawa. The duration when using the ferry is also quite long, which is more than 5 hours.
The long beach which is decorated with a stretch of white sand welcomes you. The clean and clear blue sea looks calm without any big waves. The gradation of light blue sea water towards the old looks so beautiful, just like a painting.
Menjangan Kecil Island has an area of 46 hectares which is managed by PT Awani Dream. Some points on this beach are snorkeling spots to witness the beauty of coral reefs. The clear and clean water is very supportive to witness the beauty of coral reefs for longer.
If you are not satisfied with snorkeling, you can do diving to watch the underwater beauty. There is a diving spot or Mear that is not far from Menjangan Kecil Island. No need to dive too deep because at a depth of 20 meters you can found many beautiful coral reefs.
Interestingly, while diving, you can see small, bluish-colored fish appearing clustered near coral reefs. There are coral reefs that appear to bloom with various beautiful colors.
