Starfruit Agrotourism is plantation tourism located in Ngringinrejo Village, Kalitidu District, Bojonegoro Regency, East Java. This garden has an area of about 19.3 hectares, and 80 planters manage the garden.
Each person’s ownership of star fruit trees is different. In this village, almost all of the residents work as starfruit farmers. The star fruit in this garden has a fairly large size. This makes this star fruit one of the mainstay products and an icon of Bojonegoro Regency.
This agro-tourism allows visitors to pick star fruit and taste it for free.
Farmers prefer to breed honey starfruit. Because starfruit honey has a distinctive sweet taste. The price per kilo is around 3,000 rupiahs to 4,000 rupiahs for small sizes and 5,000 rupiahs up to 8,000 rupiahs for large/jumbo sizes. In addition to star fruit, visitors can also enjoy souvenirs of star fruit crackers and various preparations made from star fruit.
Before 1984, farmers in the village of Ngringinrejo grew entirely secondary crops on their land. However, their land fails every year because it can only be planted during the rainy season. As a result, several community leaders and extension workers from the village of Ngringinrejo announced their initiatives. They took the initiative to make previously unused land more productive and to support the country’s economy.
In 1984 after receiving information that in the Tuban area in Siwalan Village there were starfruit plants. Then the figures and extension workers moved to plant star fruit on their land.
The farmers faced various obstacles at that time, ranging from insults and insults from other farmers.
However, Mbah Nur and Mbah Wo kept trying. After the starfruit plant is approximately 3-4 years old, the starfruit plant begins to show results. The plant began to bear fruit and can be harvested, it turns out the results are more than the crops that have been planted so far.
The star fruit can produce 2 times and even 3 times more than the plants planted on Dia’s land before. One by one, the Mekar Sari farmer group farmers became interested in the Blimbing plant planted by Mbah Nur and Mbah Wo. Even today, the area reaches 18.5 ha. Now Blimbing has become a superior crop in Ngringinrejo village and until now there are 104 starfruit farmers.
Now, community leaders in Ngringinrejo village use the garden area as star fruit agrotourism in Bojonegoro Regency. In the star fruit garden area, farmers have planted 9,604 trees. Several agro-tourism administrators and the Ngringinrejo Village government carried out promotional activities. The aim is to increase the attractiveness of tourists who come to the Belimbing Agrotourism in Ngringinrejo Village.
