Roro Kuning Waterfall is a small waterfall located 30 kilometers south of Nganjuk Regency, 600 m above sea level (ASL). This waterfall lays on the slope of Mount Wilis.
The name of Roro Kuning is rooted from the name two princesses of Kadiri and Dhoho Kingdom.
The princess from the Kadiri Kingdom is Princess Ruting and the princess from the Dhoho Kingdom is Princess Roro Kuning.
This waterfall is not that tall, around 10 to 15 meters, and easily accessible.
The water sources for this waterfall are 3 separate water sources that come from Mount Wilis.
This waterfall has a unique shape that looks like a trident.
People in the area around Roro Kuning also called this place as Air Merambat Roro Kuning.
Roro Kuning also has a historic significance for the independence of Indonesia.
Around this area, there is a monument of General Sudirman.
This monument is erected to reminisce about the battle that being lead by General Sudirman in this area around 1949.
There is also a tiny house that is used as a base for General Sudirman for a week.
The facilities in this area also quite complete so that visitors can enjoy this place to their hearts’ content.
The facilities are outbound area, camping ground, swimming pool, rest area, food court, deer conservation area, entertainment area, and many more.
This place also has a hiking trail that leads the visitors to the top of Mount Wilis and other waterfalls around this area.
