Of course, if you visit Yogyakarta, it’s not complete if you haven’t tried all the popular tourist attractions there. But if you want a unique tour that is beautiful but also stimulates your adrenaline, you can visit Timang Beach.
This beach is located in Gunung Kidul Regency, precisely in Purwodadi Village. As we all know, Gunung Kidul does have a lot of beaches with all their uniqueness. Of course this beach is unique, different from the other beach in Gunung Kidul area.
Timang Beach does sound foreign to the ear, unlike other beaches such as Kukup Beach, Baron Beach, or Wediombo Beach. Even so, this beach is worthy for you to make as a marine tourism destination when you are in Gunung Kidul Regency, especially in Tepus District.
This beach has an island in the middle of the ocean, named Pulau Timang or Pulau Watu Panjang. This is the main attraction of this one beach.
Initially this beach was not a tourist location, This beach was only used by fishermen to find lobster around the beach, especially on Timang Island or Watu Panjang. Timang Island’s fame began when Running Man, which is one of the famous variety shows from South Korea, visited by sending two representatives of its members. Namely Lee Kwang Soo and Jeon So Min, who came around 2017. Then they try the gondola ride which is famous for being extreme, especially if the waves are fierce. Over time, many tourists came to Timang Beach and tried the gondola ride, to spur their adrenaline.
the facilities on the beach itself are still minimal, such as gazebues, makeshift stalls, and photo spots. But many people come here to enjoy it every month.
