Tangkuban Perahu in Bandung is a popular tourist destination in Indonesia. This place has a famous story that everyone in Indonesia knows about. The story is about the birth of this mountain, usually called the “Story of Sangkuriang.”

The results of the research show that the mountain was formed as a result of the eruption of the Ancient Sunda Mountain. About 50,000 years ago, that mountain erupted violently. Tangkuban Perahu volcano erupted the last time in 1910 and has not erupted since then.
The mountain is 2,084 meters above sea level and has nine craters. Which three craters are famous for. These three craters are Ratu crater, Domas crater, and Upas crater.
Travel to Tangkuban Perahu
There are several routes to get to the location. If you’re from Bandung City and you’re using private vehicles, there are two routes to Tangkuban Perahu that you can choose.
Exit the Pasteur toll gate and then head to Dr. Djunan-Kaliki Sand-Sukajadi-Setia Budi-Lembang and finally to the location.
Or take the exit at the Padalarang toll gate to Cimahi, then turn left onto Colonel Masturi Road, until at the T-junction of the Lembang highway turn left and you arrive at the location.

From the Leuwi Panjang (Bandung) bus station, take the Bandung bus to Indramayu and get off at the Tangkuban Perahu entrance gate.
Tangkuban Perahu Tourism Entrance Ticket Prices & Operational Time
Tangkuban Perahu is open every day from 7.00 a.m. to 17.00 p.m.
Tangkupan Perahu’s ticket price is is Rp.200,000.00 on weekday and Rp.300,000.00 on weekend for each individual.
Tangkuban Perahu Mountain Nature Park
KAWAH RATU
Kawah Ratu is the main crater in Tangkuban Parahu Mountain Nature Park and is the largest crater among other craters. Kawah Ratu is shaped like a large bowl with a crater depth about 500 meters from the surface of the crater.
KAWAH UPAS
It is located about 1.5 km from the Kawah Ratu area. If you want to enjoy the beauty of Kawah Upas, you can walk along the lips of Kawah Ratu and be 45 minutes away.
KAWAH DOMAS
Kawah Domas has located about 1.2 Km from the Kawah Ratu Area, by walking for approximately 30 minutes, during the trip tourists can see various types of endemic trees. it has a hot spring with a temperature of 1000 degrees Celsius, and there are small pools for just soaking feet which are believed to cure various diseases, such as Ringworm, Rheumatism, etc.
